Andie Stitt grew up in Kansas City, Kansas where she began dance training at the age of four. She trained under many dance educators at studios, conventions, camps and workshops. In high school, she was given the opportunity of a lifetime to travel with the Pulse Dance Convention to assist famous choreographers such as Dave Scott, Nappytabs, Brian Friedman and many more. She continued studio classes during this time and decided to take her dance training to the next level by attending Wichita State University. In 2014, Andie graduated from Wichita State with a BFA focused in dance and choreography. Upon graduating, she was hired to join the faculty in the dance program at Wichita State along with teaching at four local dance studios. During her time in Wichita, Andie was also employed by Young Audiences affiliate program Arts Partners. With the help of Arts Partners, Andie would spend her afternoons bringing dance to at risk and low-income children in the community. She moved back to Kansas City in 2016 and accepted a teaching job in the dance department at The University of Kansas. At The University of Kansas she teaches hip-hop, rhythm tap, jazz and modern. She also works with the University Dance Company, guest choreographs for the Rock Chalk Dance Team and works hand in hand with many student ran groups and organizations. Her daily life consists of traveling to guest teach, choreograph for dance teams, or teach at intensives/camps throughout the country. Andie sets around 150 guest pieces across the country annually. Andie guest choreographs for teams such as the NFL Chiefs Cheerleaders, National Champions Baker University Dance Team, nationally ranked Kearney High School Dance Team and many more. She residentially teaches at a pre-professional studio in Kansas called Point B Dance, and spends most weekends teaching at conventions around the country. Andie is also the founder of “Dance on with Diabetes”, a support group for dancers living with Type 1 Diabetes. In addition, Andie enjoys sharing her knowledge with students as a dance adjudicator for many different talent competitions around the country. She is honored and humbled to have the opportunity to work with so many talented dancers.
